 1. how the wives restored their husband to life

Story source: Notes on the Folklore of the Fjort by Richard Edward Dennett (1898).

one of the things i liked about this story was how each wife thought they were the best option. Each one thought they were going to beat the others for their own reasons.

Ndoza'ntu (the Dreamer)- dreamt of the dead husband
Songa'nzila (the Guide)- led the wifes to his body
Fulla Fulla (the Raiser of the Dead)- brought him back

Nenpetro(husband) has to provide food for all 3 wifes, but they are very hungry. after they ate an antelope and a monkey, they were still hungry so nenpetro went to kill an ox. Right when he was about to kill one, another one ambushed him and killed him.
maybe he fakes his death? to test which wife actually loves him and they each react differently and try different things.

this story reminded me of "happy wife, happy life" the mysterious girl in his dream told him to chop off the heads of the fish and he obeyed for a while. when he awoke from his dream, he went out and did the same steps. went to the river, knock knock, a canoe appeared. 2 more knocks and paddles appeared. he went fishing and when he went to return to his small shack, he instead saw a huge house with the girl from his dreams. he loved her very much
swarmi: very rich brother, selfish, rude
Buite: poor brother, humble, nice, runs away and builds a shack in a valley of palm trees
