I was intrigued by this story because the title gave off a mysterious and dark vibe, which are the kind of books and stories I like to read. As I read through the introduction, I noticed myself having to reread and backtrack through the story to make sure I was understanding correctly. The introduction left off with a cliff hanger, which made me glance ahead at the next section of the story. I also enjoy how the introduction didn't give away all of the story at the beginning, the Queen remained a mystery and so did the reason for revenge.
It's All in Your Head, Alice https://sites.google.com/view/alicewakeup/intro
I assumed by the title that this story would be similar to Alice In Wonderland, but I was excited when I saw how the author had chosen to write the story. Changing the perspective to a doctor studying Alice, Alice having multiple personality disorder, and the entries being about their visits are all really creative ways to spin the story. I also like how the introduction started and how it is supposed to be "transcripts" between a doctor and patient. After reading the intro, I realized that the title of the story made a lot of sense, since mental disorders are in your head and that is often a phrase used towards mental health and mental health patients.
Nursery Rhymes: What Really Happened https://sites.google.com/view/nurseryrhymesremastered/home
I chose this story based off of the title because I have read some origins of the famous nursery rhymes and fairytales. I've always thought it was interesting how these original stories came about, and then how drastically different they got twisted in modern times. I love the idea of Mother Goose writing to us, because she was a prominent character in most of our childhoods, it was fun to imagine her actually talking to us as adults. I also like how the author provides a little sneak peak into which stories Mother Goose is going to clear up and explain.
