reading notes Nursery Rhymes (B)
1. jingles The Nursery Rhyme Book edited by Andrew Lang
- hey diddle diddle would always get stuck in my head as a kid. I never really understood it, and now i don't think there's anything to understand. it's just a fun little song to sing to kids but it could be fun to turn each "character" into its own micro fiction story
- for some reason this rhyme reminds of death. The goose is carrying the king's daughter to heaven
GREY goose and gander
Waft your wings together,
And carry the good king's daughter
Over the one strand river
Waft your wings together,
And carry the good king's daughter
Over the one strand river
these stories are really fun because with each new addition the story changes a little. my favorite was the flowers in the basket on the bed
4. relics
- what are little boys made- i heard this a lot growing up too, but ive never heard the boy version (snaps and snails and puppy dog tails). this could be told from a scientist perspective of creating children for himself (powerpuff girls)
i think this half of the reading to be more difficult to get through than part a! im not sure what kind of story i want to create from these.
